The Times Digital Archive 1986-2006 is a full-image online archive of every page published by The Times of London from 1986-2006, complementing the Times Digital Archive 1785-1985 already available at Concordia. The text within the page images is fully searchable at the article level. Users can easily search news articles, obituaries, advertising and classifieds. Results are displayed at the article level and users may view the article, or the full page upon which it appeared.
Financial Times Historical Archive is a fully-searchable facsimile edition of the Financial Times offering the complete run of the London edition of the paper, from its first issue in 1888 up to four years ago. Each individual article, advertisement and market listing is included and shown individually and in the context of the full page and issue of the day.

New Resource: C19: The Nineteenth Century Index
C19: The Nineteenth Century Index is a bibliographic index for 19th-century research, providing records for millions of documents ranging from books and newspapers to government documents and periodicals. It includes all the records listed in Poole's Index to Periodical Literature as well as the Wellesley Index to Victorian Periodicals (1824-1900) and the American Periodicals Series (1791-1919). It also provides access to Palmer's Index to the Times (1790-1905), the full text of which is available on Times Digital Archive. It includes links to the full-text articles in Periodicals Archive Online, JSTOR and House of Commons Parliamentary Papers.
New Resource: ICPSR
ICPSR is a statistical data repository covering fields such as sociology, political science, economics, demography, education, child care, health care, crime, minority populations, aging, terrorism, substance abuse, mental health, public policy, and international relations. The collection focuses on U.S. issues but also includes several datasets that deal with international and Canadian topics. The data is presented in a raw format which means that statistical analysis software such as SPSS or SAS is needed to interpret it.
Please note: users must create a MyData account on the ICPSR site in order to access data. The account must be created on a computer connected to Concordia’s network, or remotely through Concordia’s VPN service.

Ethnographic Video Online includes classic works from the pioneers of ethnographic film, including Robert Flaherty, Timothy Asch, John Marshall, Robert Gardner, Jean Rouch, and many more—together with contemporary works by innovative filmmakers from around the world. The growing collection is set to include more than 1000 films and 750 hours of classic and contemporary documentaries produced by leading video producers in the discipline; previously unpublished footage from working anthropologists and ethnographers in the field; and select feature films.
Wherever possible, videos include accompanying field notes, liner notes, filmmaker biographies, related articles, study guides, and other full-text materials.

CSA Worldwide Political Science Abstracts builds on the merged backfiles of Political Science Abstracts, 1975-2000, and ABC POL SCI, 1984-2000. The database provides citations, abstracts, and indexing of the international serials literature in political science and its complementary fields, including international relations, law, sociology, economics, and public administration/policy. The references cited in the bibliographies of the source articles are included for all journals added since 2004, and for key journals in political science since 2001. The thesaurus is available within the database.
Political Handbook of the World is an authoritative source for finding complete facts and analysis on each country's governmental and political makeup. It includes extensive coverage of all major and minor political parties and groups in each political system around the world. It also provides names of key ambassadors and international memberships of each country, plus profiles of over 75 intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

The Community of Science COS research suite consists of 3 databases: COS Scholar Universe, containing over 2 million profiles of scholars, authors, researchers and institutions, their research interests, publications, positions, and awards; COS Funding Opportunities, a comprehensive, aggregated database of available grants, fellowships and other monies from sponsors throughout the world; and PapersInvited, which contains publishing opportunities, such as calls for conference papers, posters and journal special editions.

Free Online Resource available: CanVec
CanVec is a multi-source product coming mainly from the National Topographic Data Base (NTDB), the GeoBase initiative (www.geobase.ca) and the data update using Landsat 7 imagery coverage. CanVec product contains more than 90 topographic entities thematically organized into 11 distribution themes: Administrative Boundaries, Buildings and Structures, Energy, Hydrography, Industrial and Commercial Areas, Places of Interest, Relief and Landforms, Toponymy, Transportation, Vegetation and Water Saturated Soils. The CanVec product is free and is distributed via GeoGratis portal in output file formats GML (Geography Markup Language) and SHAPE (ArcGIS products).
19th century British pamphlets collection added to JSTOR
Concordia Libraries now have access to the 19th century British pamphlets collection in JSTOR. This collection contains over 20,000 digitized significant British pamphlets created by Research Libraries UK. Includes the Cowen Tracts, Humen Tracts, and Knowsley pamphlet collection.
New e-book collection: Oxford Digital Reference Shelf
Concordia University Libraries have acquired a number of reference e-books on the Oxford Digital Reference Shelf platform. Titles in the Oxford Digital Reference Shelf are fully cross-searchable with titles in the Oxford Reference Online: Premium Collection.
Equinox to replace IDLS and Sherlock
Equinox provides a wide range of statistical data, mostly from Statistics Canada. Data is available in aggregated format (ready to use data tables) as well as unaggregated format (microdata). Researchers can download complete datasets or make custom extractions of specific variables. Extensive data from recent Canadian censuses as well as most datasets from the Data Liberation Initiative (DLI) are available through Equinox.
Equinox replaces Sherlock and IDLS, which are no longer being updated. Users of IDLS will find that their file request history, PIN, and other administrative database information have been migrated from IDLS to Equinox.

Health and Psychosocial Instruments (HaPI), produced by Behavioral Measurement Database Services, is a comprehensive bibliographic database providing information about behavioural measurement instruments. Information in the database is abstracted from hundreds of leading journals covering health sciences and psychosocial sciences. Additionally, instruments from Industrial/Organizational Behaviour and Education are included. Records contained in HaPI provide information on questionnaires, interview schedules, vignettes/scenarios, coding schemes, rating and other scales, checklists, indexes, tests, projective techniques, and more.
International Political Science Abstracts now on OvidSP
International Political Science Abstracts (IPSA) has migrated from the WebSPIRS platform to OvidSP. International Political Science Abstracts is a bibliographic database that indexes and abstracts articles from periodicals published throughout the world. Covers political science method and theory; political thinkers and ideas; governmental & administrative institutions; political process including public opinion; international relations; and national and area studies. The abstracts summarize the source articles. Articles in English are abstracted in English; those in other languages are abstracted in French, with all titles translated into English.

Ireland Collection added to JSTOR
Concordia Libraries now have access to the Ireland Collection in JSTOR. The Ireland Collection, developed in cooperation with Queen's University Belfast, is an interdisciplinary collection of journals and other materials. Complementing JSTOR's existing collections, it adds titles and resources across the arts, humanities, and sciences in disciplines such as music, art, history, literature, archaeology, mathematics, and biology. Materials span from the 1780s to the present. The content is international in scope, while also providing a rich focus on Ireland.

Philosopher's Index now on CSA
Philosopher's Index Philosopher's Index has been moved from the WebSPIRS platform to CSA. Philosopher's Index on CSA provides indexing and abstracts from books and from more than 480 journals of philosophy and related fields. Education Full Text has replaced Education Abstracts. It provides current coverage of over 500 journals, approximately half of which are peer reviewed. Concordia University Libraries have subscribed to the United Nations Commodity Trade Statistics database (UN Comtrade), a database that provides information on any commodity for over 200 countries and areas. Including larger overviews of imports and exports by country and main categories of commodities, such as food or fuels or machinery.
