• Columbia International Affairs Online (CIAO) Atlas: Maps & Country Information: Quarterly updates. The Atlas presents current and archived political and economic reports on 201 countries with sections on Outlook.
• Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU): see Country Report for in-depth analysis of political and economic trends and forecasts, with data tables and charts, in nearly 200 countries. Mostly monthly.
• Global Market Information Database (GMID): search Consumer Lifestyle Reports and other related reports by clicking on browse reports or by using the keyword search (see top menu). Examines indicators, choices and factors to compare market conditions around the world.
• Amnesty International: Human Rights by Country - The state of human rights in more than 150 countries and the changes the organization is working to bring about.
• Foreign Information by Country: The University of Colorado has organized country reports from such sources as the CIA World Factbook, BBC News, and the World Bank.

• SourceOECD: select Country Reports & Tables using go to pull-down menu. This resource includes the full text of all of OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) publications, including periodicals, monographic studies and statistical databases.
  • OECD Economic Surveys: In-depth annual reviews of the economy of each member countries from 1998 onward.
• OECD Online: select Country using go to pull-down menu. Find OECD resources that focus on a particular member country, including Canada. Includes statistics, economic and social data, and researches social changes.
• International Monetary Fund: IMF Country Information: Portal of IMF full-text country reports and publications back to the 1990s arranged by country.
• The World Bank:
  • Countries & Regions: Mainly economic information with some demographic and social statistics.
  • Country at a Glance tables: "presents two pages of key indicators tracing the trends in social and economic development from the last three decades."
  • Doing Business: Select a country by clicking on the drop-down menu Select an economy on the top right of the screen. Includes measures of business regulations and their enforcement across 181 economies and selected cities at the subnational and regional level.

• Energy Information Administration, U.S.: Country Analysis Briefs The EIA, an agency of the U.S. Department of Energy, provides policy-neutral data, forecasts, and analyses regarding energy and its interaction with the economy and the environment.
• Library of Congress, U.S:
  • Country Studies: Electronic versions of detailed studies on 101 nations prepared by the U.S. Department of the Army published from 1986 to 1998. Includes a description and analysis of the historical setting, geography, society, economy, political system, foreign policy, and national security of each country.
  • Country Profiles: Recent, brief information on a country's historical background, geography, society, economy, transportation and telecommunications, government and politics, and national security.
• U.S. Department of State: Background Notes: Provides facts about the land, people, history, government, political conditions, economy, and foreign relations of independent states, some dependencies and Areas of Special Sovereignty. Includes current Notes and links to previous editions back to 1990.
• U.S. Department of State: Country Reports on Terrorism: Yearly report on the international terrorist threat with country information back to 2004 (information on terrorism for previous years).

• Europa World Plus: Historical, economic and statistical information on over 250 countries.
• BBC News Country Profiles: Information on the history, politics and media of countries and territories, and background on key institutions. Also includes audio and video clips from BBC archives.
• CIA World Factbook: For up-to-date factual and statistical information by country on categories such as communications, government, military, transnational issues. Currently updated every two weeks.
• Country Insights - Government of Canada: Maps, facts and statistics mostly for travelers.
• Electronic Development and Environment Information System (ELDIS): A database of information sources on international development via the web and email. For Country Profiles, information on topics such as agriculture, aid, development, and health.
• Great Britain, Foreign & Commonwealth Office: Country Profiles Summaries of detailed country profiles with information on recent history, current politics, economy and international relations for each country.
• PRB Country Profiles - Population Reference Bureau, U.S. Choose to Browse by region/country from the drop-down menu on the right to view demographic highlights.
• The Statesman's year-book This annual publication, kept in Webster Library Reference, includes country profiles, chronology of events, and information not readily available in other sources.
