MetaFind Help

What is MetaFind?

MetaFind enables you to search multiple library resources simultaneously (library catalogues, article databases, electronic journals) and returns a single list of results that you can browse and explore.

Start using MetaFind

When should I use MetaFind?

MetaFind is useful when you:

  • want to do a relatively quick and simple search
  • don't know where to start or which database to search
  • want to determine which database(s) might be best for your topic
  • want to retrieve an article you already have but can't remember where you found it

MetaFind offers an effective way to discover relevant resources and information. Keep in mind that MetaFind does not search everything (only a selection of library resources). It is not intended as a substitute for the sophisticated search functionality of an individual database and should not be used when you are conducting advanced research.
