Great Canadian Parks
This site presents a brief profile of National Parks in Canada. You will find the history of each park, as well as their geographic location as well as a directory. Be sure to check the Great Canadian index menu for profiles on other topics, such as rivers, lakes and a section called Natural Tourist which has information on trails, fishing, ecology and more.
 
Mapping the National Parks
A site maintained by the Library of Congress which allows users to browse and search their digital collection. The site has approximately 200 historical and current maps that document the history, cultural aspects and geological formations of areas that are now designated as National Parks
 
National Park Foundation
Good place to start if you plan to visit a park. It has brief downloadable travel guides, maps, kid's programs, and links to the official website of each park. This site is limited to U.S. parks only.
 
National Parks Service
Maintained by the U.S. Department of the Interior, you can browse for a specific park in the A-Z index, conduct a geographic search or search by topic. This site contains all the national parks in the U.S., historic sites and trails, reserves, memorials, monuments and more.
 
Parks Canada
Maintained by the Canadian Government, this site has information on all the national parks in Canada, as well information on Heritage sites and campground reservations. Check here also for any job postings, both paid and volunteer.
 
U.S. National Parks
An independent website that provides an extensive amount of details such as camping guides, maps, fees, brochures, weather info., accessibility, etc... for all the national parks in the U.S.

Therapeutic Recreation and Disability

Abledata
Abledata is a government funded site that contains over 27,000 adaptive equipment products from over 2000 companies. Use the database to search for a particular product and find detailed descriptions as well as images.
 
Active Living Alliance
"The Active Living Alliance for Canadians with a Disability (ALACD) promotes, supports and enables Canadians with disabilities to lead active, healthy lives." A bilingual site that provides information on upcoming events, discussion boards, volunteering, resources and provides disability access to its site.
 
Disability Resources on the Internet
Maintained by a nonprofit organization called Disability Resources, this site provides a wealth of information and links to the most popular, and most useful sites available online for people with disabilities. From topics ranging from Assistive Technology to more specific disabilities, consider looking here to find good information on the internet.
 
International Center for Disability Resources on the Internet
"An internationally recognized public policy center organized by and for people with disabilities, ICDRI seeks to increase opportunities for people with disabilities by identifying barriers to participation in society and promoting best practices and universal design for the global community."
 
National Center on Physical Activity and Disability
Find fact sheets on various disabilities as well as resource directories of organizations and programs that provide accessible sport and recreation.
 
National Dissemination Center for Children with Disabilities
Information and referral center that provides information on disability-related issues. Find fact sheets, training materials and the developments in the area of disability.
 
Project TRIPS
