Guides to Internet Sources

The Argus/University of Michigan Clearinghouse lists many subject guides to the Internet. Its structure is hierarchical in that at its first level it is divided into 12 large categories that are in turn subdivided into more specific topics. Each guide then lists a multitude of Internet sources in that subject area.
The following are some good starting points to finding civil engineering information.

Professional or Government Bodies (societies, organizations, agencies, etc.)

Electronic Discussion Groups

If you are interesting in discussing your topic with others who are studying or working in your field you might want to subscribe to an electronic discussion list. To identify groups/lists that might be useful try CataList or Google Groups
