Standards are documents which stipulate levels of performance and quality of goods and services, and conditions and procedures for operations in industry, science and commerce.
The Webster Library houses a collection of standards published by major Canadian and American standard-issuing bodies, such as Canadian Standards Association, National Research Council of Canada, Society of Automotive Engineers, etc.
Standards have brief entries in CLUES under issuing body (author) and title. The CLUES location for these is designated as "Webster Standard". If you don't find what you are looking for in CLUES, ask at the Reference Desk.
Standards may be consulted during all the hours that the library is open for study.
Standards are physically located in the Reference area. On the shelves, they are arranged in alphabetical order by the names of the standard-issuing bodies.
Exceptionally, standards issued by the Quebec Government are housed in the Webster Library Government Publications Unit.
The collection of standards is a non-circulating one unless there is a superseded edition or duplicate copy, in which case, it may be borrowed.
Assistance is available during service hours at the Webster Library Reference Desk.
