Guest Accounts for External Community Access to Computer Workstations

Computer workstations in Concordia University Libraries with access to the Internet require authentication of each person using the computer. Currently enrolled Concordia students, faculty and staff must use their MyConcordia NetName and password for authentication. Other categories of Library users may be eligible for guest accounts allowing one-day access to these workstations during specified hours of the day they apply for the account.

Who can get a guest account?

Holders of valid Library Privilege Cards may apply for a guest account.

How do I apply for a guest account?

You must apply for a guest account in person at the Circulation Desks in Webster or Vanier Libraries during Circulation service hours. The following rules apply:

  • To obtain a guest account, presentation of a valid Library Privilege Card and photo identification is required. Borrowers must be in good standing and not have any outstanding overdue items, fines or unpaid debts to the Library.
  • Guest accounts are issued each day and are only valid on the date they are issued.
  • Guest accounts are not transferable.
  • Holders of guest accounts must comply with University and Library regulations on computer use and are responsible for any use made of their account on library computers. All users must log off at the end of their session.

When can I use my guest account?

You can only apply for a new guest account during Circulation service hours. Once you have your account, you can use it during the following times:

  • Fall and Winter Semesters
    • Monday to Thursday: 8:30am to 11am; 9pm to closing
