Troubleshooting - Group Study Room Bookings

Below are some explanations of the messages you might receive while trying to book a Group Study Room.

Error Message Meaning

"The material you have chosen has been booked during [date & time]"

This message is your confirmation of a successful booking; the booking will appear in your MyCLUES record.

"You cannot book this material"

Only Concordia undergraduate and graduate students and faculty may book group study rooms.

"Cannot book item because you already have the maximum number of bookings allowed"

You may only book a maximum of three group study rooms at any one time. If you want a different booking time, cancel one or both and try another booking time.

"Sorry, circulation policy does not allow you to book this item"

Unpaid library fines will prevent you from booking a group study room. Check your MyCLUES record to see any outstanding fines you may owe and/or books you have not yet returned which may be overdue or recalled.

"Booking period has exceeded the maximum"

You may not book a room for a period longer than 3 hours. Shorten the booking duration to 3 hours or less and try again.

"Please enter a valid starting date"

  • Either the date/time you entered is in the past, or
  • you have selected a time when service hours are not operational. In order for you to pick up and return the key, you must select a time when the Circulation Desk is open.

"Please select an item"

One of the rooms has to be selected using the checkbox.

"The item is currently being updated. Please try again later"

Try again in a few minutes.

"Library is closed at this time"

You may not choose a booking time when the library is closed.

"Sorry, item is not available to book. [date & time]"

The room you tried to select was already booked for some part of that period. Try selecting another room or time period.

"No items available on [Day, Date, Time]"

You have tried to book a room outside the allowable hours. The start time AND the end time must both occur while the Circulation Desk is open.
