• Helping to make WILU 2009 a welcoming, smoothly-run event?

...then join the WILU 2009 Volunteer Team.

As in past years we will be seeking a core of enthusiastic and responsible volunteers whose contributions will be a key element of the conference's success. The rewards and benefits of this opportunity should especially interest library school students and recent grads.

Volunteer roles

Volunteers will perform a wide variety of tasks, including:

• Staffing the registration desk and participant lounge
• Helping with set-up and logistics of individual sessions
• Providing information and directions to conference participants

Convenors

Conference participants can also choose to volunteer as a convenor for one or more sessions upon registration or by contacting us. Convenor responsibilities generally consist of:

• Arriving at the session in advance
• Introducing and thanking the presenter
• Ensuring, if necessary, that time restrictions are met
• Acting as contact person in case of technical problems
