Capabilities

The Visualization Studio is a space providing students and faculty with new, immersive ways to explore, create, and communicate. The studio features a touch-capable high-resolution display wall, a mono audio system for basic sound playback, a spatial audio system, and a range of VR hardware options. An intuitive touch interface allows users to make, save and recall an unlimited range of different video, mono audio, and lighting layouts.

The studio'ss dedicated graphics PC can send a full resolution signal to fill the display wall; however, you can also create custom video mosaics comprised of the video output of your own devices, the outputs of our main graphics PC, and two other PCs dedicated to VR development and room tracking.

Audio from any device can be routed to the room's mono audio system, or a 27-speaker immersive 'SPAT' audio system for more advanced spatial audio applications.

Note: It is not necessary to create custom media for the studio's display wall. Think of the wall as a visual canvas that can display the output of any video device including laptops, tablets and smart phones.
