The furniture consultation process was not intended to identify specifically which furniture we will buy. Its purpose was to know more about what kind of furniture students prefer and what characteristics we will request in the request for tenders. A request for tenders is an invitation to suppliers to provide bids for a service, or in this case, a product: the library furniture. It’s a competitive process which allows us to get the best products at the lowest prices. Universities always submit requests for tenders for these types of projects.
