Now library visitors have more options for scanning documents.

We’ve recently added a mini tabletop book scanner to the Course Reserves room in the Webster Library. Scan books or documents with the machine on the left, then adjust your scans and choose your output type with the machine on the right.

Send your scan via email, or save it on your USB key or in the cloud (Google Drive, One Drive, and Dropbox).

The scanner can also convert scanned text automatically to an audio file using text-to-speech. It captures 30 book pages per minute and produces clear images in full colour for instant access. The Library is planning to make four more scanners available on LB3 and LB4 once the renovations are completed. The scanner will prove most useful for students with disabilities, students who prefer to read material on screen, and for students who are on a tight budget. It is fast and easy to use!
