The biggest challenge of doing research or finding out about a topic is not finding sources. There is information flowing around us all the time on every topic! The hardest part, instead, is finding out what is trustworthy information. This activity gives you the opportunity to apply the SIFT method (Stop, Investigate the source, Find better coverage, and Trace claims) to evaluate information.
If you'd like to learn more before doing the activity, check out our pages on misinformation and disinformation, deepfakes, and SIFT and other media evaluation strategies.
The activity will open in a new window. It will take about 15 minutes to complete.
