Communication Abstracts
Citations to journal articles, books and book chapters on all aspects of communication, broadcasting, radio, television, journalism, public relations, advertising, and communication theory; includes abstracts. Coverage is from 1977 onwards.
Communication & Mass Media Complete
Indexes over 400 journals in communication, media studies and journalism, with full-text coverage for 200 journals.
Academic Search Complete
Of particular use for topics which are interdisciplinary in nature and that may be covered in journals that are not strictly communication studies such as cultural studies, womens studies, sociology, economics, political science.
Sociological Abstracts
Citations with abstracts to articles from approximately 2,000 journals in the field of sociology since 1974. Citations to relevant dissertations are also available from 1986 onward. Of particular relevance to cultural aspects of communication.

FIAF International Index to Film Periodicals
The database indexes articles in more than 330 academic and popular film journals from 1972 to the present, as well as indexing television related articles. It also includes Treasures from the Film Archives database which provides information on the holdings of approximately 21,000 silent films (silent shorts and features, fiction and non-fiction) in over 70 international film archives.
Film and Television Literature Index

International Index to the Performing Arts
Includes full-text and indexing of journals in all areas of the performing arts, including film and television
Film Index International
An important resource for finding film reviews that appeared from the 1930s to 1997.
American Film scripts Online
Full-text of over 800 filmscripts from 1903 to 2006, searchable by writer, topic, character and title.

Academic Search Complete
Of particular use for topics which are interdisciplinary in nature and that may be covered in journals that are not strictly communication studies such as cultural studies, womens studies, sociology, economics, political science.
Humanities Abstracts
A multidisciplinary database with significant coverage of communications. Citations (with abstracts from 1994 onward) to articles in over 400 periodicals in humanities fields including core journals in communication studies, journalism. Updated quarterly. Retrospective coverage from 1974 onwards is available in printed format as Humanities Index
Wilson Art Suite
Includes five databases: WilsonArt Fulltext, Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals, Art Museum Image Gallery, Cinema Image Gallery, Art Index Retrospective.

Though not specifically geared to media research, contains many relevant subject headings for media students, including: media, communications industry, government control of media, investigative journalism. racism in the media, violence in the media, and more. Updated monthly.
Eric
Citations with abstracts to articles, reports and conference papers in the field of education. Includes subject areas such as information technology, media literacy and journalism education. Deals with issues such as press freedom and censorship. Updated quarterly.
PsycInfo
Includes citations to over 1500 journals in psychology and the behavioral sciences. Relevant subject areas for media studies include advertising effects and audience research. Also interpersonal communication.
Social Sciences Abstracts
Citations to articles and book reviews in over 400 English-language journals covering social sciences fields such as anthropology, economics, environment, geography, law and criminology, public administration political science and more.
