  Founded in 1971 by Michael Hart at the University of Illinois, Project Gutenberg features some 16,000 e-texts in the public domain. High quality texts but not necessarily authoritative.

  Ebooks in the Canadian public domain. They offer Canadian fiction (in English and French) and non-fiction books on Canadian history, politics, and culture. They also offer international literature (fiction and non-fiction) in any language.
