Beyond general purpose tools like Copilot or ChatGPT, there are a growing number of academically-focused artificial intelligence (AI) tools to assist with a variety of academic tasks and research processes. This guide summarizes and provides examples of these tools arranged in broad categories by type. It is intended as a starting point for personal exploration and learning and is not an endorsement.
Some tools assist in the discovery of scholarly literature, others support data analysis, literature reviews, or the exploration of new research questions.
